ALEX CAMILO LEADS GUELPH TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP OVER WELLAND

Alex Camilo collected four hits in four at bats, as the Guelph Silvercreeks defeated the Welland Jr Jackfish to win the ICBA championship 8-3 on Sunday. Camilo doubled in the eighth inning, singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the sixth inning.



Guelph got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jackson Groves doubled, and Chase Williams grounded out, each scoring one run.



Guelph extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Williams and Zach Martens.



Logan Miziolek earned the win for the Silvercreeks. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking four. Drew McCarthur took the loss for the Jackfish. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, giving up six runs on 10 hits, striking out one and walking one. Liam Karn appeared in relief for the Guelph Silvercreeks.



The Silvercreeks piled up 14 hits in the game. Williams went 2-for-5 at the plate as the left-handed hitter led the team with three runs batted in. Martens, Owen Ellis, and Groves each collected multiple hits for Guelph. Williams stole two bases. Guelph ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. The Silvercreeks didn't commit a single error in the field. Sawyer Whitaker had the most chances in the field with nine.
